Portland, Maine -- The Somerset Patriots took four of six on the road against the Portland Sea Dogs to improve their record to 34-23 and have won 16 of their last 22 games. The Patriots are leading the Eastern League Division with Binghampton and Erie just one game back in the standings. They will be back at TD Bank Ballpark 9/5 - 9/10 for a six game series against Detroit Tigers Double-A affiliate, Erie SeaWolves on their last home stand before playoffs.

The Patriots won a low scoring 3-1 game thanks to a good start from Yoendrys Gomez. Gomez pitched 4.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and nearly got his first win of the season. The Patriots offense got started with a two-run single by outfielder Jeisson Rosario to take a 2-0 lead. Ben Rice picked up his 14th multi hit game in Double-A and Augustin Ramirez went 2-4. Game 2 (8/30): 13-6 W - Patriots registered their seventh straight win 5-2, and tied their franchise record of longest winning streak.
The Patriots got their first run with an RBI single from Ramirez. Anthony Siegler’s solo shot was the only home run for the Patriots. Sacrifice flies were added by Spencer Jones and Aaron Palensky. Bailey Dees got the save for the Patriots pitching a scoreless ninth.
