Rutgers Women's Basketball Officially Adds 'Rare Talent' Kiyomi McMiller

Rutgers women's basketball head coach Coquese Washington announced incoming freshman Kiyomi McMiller has officially signed with the Scarlet Knights. McMiller is a five-star recruit who played the last two seasons of her high school career at Life Center Academy in Burlington, New Jersey.

The addition of McMiller is a major grab for Washington and the Scarlet Knights who recently saw one of their top players Kaylene Smikle transfer to Big Ten rival Maryland

As a senior at Life Center Academy, McMiller averaged 30.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.8 steals per game. She is an extraordinary talent known for her ball handling skills and scoring ability. She has been called a 'rare talent' with ' Kyrie Irving-esque handles' by many recruiting outlets.

McMiller became the first high school athlete to land a Jordan Brand NIL deal and will participate in the Jordan Brand Classic on April 21st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Rutgers basketball fans are in for a treat any time McMiller is on the floor - don't blink!

"Kiyomi McMiller is one of the most exciting players I've ever seen play the game of basketball," Washington said. "She is a walking highlight, and our fans are going to love watching her breathtaking performances in Jersey Mike's Arena. She is a fast-paced guard which fits in well with how we like to play. Moreover, she is highly competitive and is ready to elevate Rutgers women's basketball to new heights. It's going to be a lot of fun coaching Kiyomi."

McMiller Had Long Offer List

McMiller chose Rutgers over some top national powerhouses like Kentucky, Baylor, LSU, Michigan, to name a few. Her offer list was long.

The Scarlet Knights, who often struggled to score last season, finished 8-24 overall and 2-16 in Big Ten play. McMiller will have a chance to make an immediate impact. The duo of McMiller and Destiny Adams will be fun to watch!
