His team fell short, losing the game 88-86, but Harper still had an exceptional game that earned him the honor of being a co-MVP despite being on the losing side.
Harper is a five-star recruit in the Class of 2024. He will stay in New Jersey next season to play his collegiate basketball career at Rutgers University, where his older brother Ron Harper Jr. also played his college career. He is the son of former NBA player and five-time NBA Champion Ron Harper. Dylan Harper is ESPN's third-ranked player in the nation and the number-one-ranked player in New Jersey.
Harper averaged 22.4 points for Don Bosco Prep this season, leading them to a state championship. Harper was named the Morgan Wooten High School Player of the Year and the New Jersey Boys Basketball Player of The Year.
Harper's co-MVP for the McDonald's All-American Game is another accolade he can add to his resume. He will look to continue his success representing his home state for the Scarlet Knights.
ESPN ranked Dylan Harper as the sixth-best prospect for the 2025 NBA Draft. Harper will play with Ace Bailey at Rutgers, the second-ranked player in the Class of 2024 according to ESPN and the second-best prospect in the 2025 NBA draft.
It should be an exciting season for Rutgers men's basketball next season, adding these two five-star players, especially with Harper coming in as the co-MVP of the country's marquee high school all-star game. Harper is the first Scarlet Knight commit to win the MVP award at the McDonald's All-American Game.
