Seton Hall women's basketball defeat St. Thomas Aquinas in tune-up

On Thursday, Seton Hall women's basketball took on the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans in an exhibition game at Walsh Gymnasium. The Pirates were not shy to show off their new team as they defeated the Spartans, 79-38. The newcomers were a huge factor in the win as the new faces to the squad racked up a 45 points. From the opening tip-off to the final buzzer, the Pirates showed nothing but aggression and dominance to their opponent. Seton Hall's defense was crucial in helping Seton Hall limit the Spartans to just 36 percent shooting.

New Sheriffs In Town

As the new Seton Hall women's team members received their minutes on the court, everyone got a piece of the action, demonstrating a high degree of offensive skill in every play quarter. Freshman Savannah Catalon led the way with 12 points, three assists, and five steals. Transfer guard Micah Gray also gave the Spartans fits as she finished with nine points, two assists, and two steals.

Seton Hall's offense had their foot on the pedal all night as the Pirates were consistent on finding openings and passes that led to 27 field goals. They were not timid giving their shots a go, and it worked out in the Pirates favor. The nine newcomers to South Orange got a nice feel for the court and are projected to prove their roles on this squad very soon.

What's Next For Seton Hall

The opening game of the Pirates' season will take place at home against the Iona Gaels on Tuesday. From the looks on Thursday evening, these Pirates are ready to put on a show and give fans their money's worth. The rookies are ready to leave their mark and the past players are hungry for some wins!
