PREGAME - NJ Devils vs. Colorado Avalanche

On Tuesday night, the Devils will take on the Colorado Avalanche at the Ball Arena in Colorado at 10 p.m.

Both the Avalanche and the Devils have had a similar start to the season. The Devils have a 7-3-1 record, while the Avalanche have a 7-3-0 record.

The Devils are coming off an impressive win against the Chicago Blackhawks while missing key players captain Nico Hischier and superstar Jack Hughes. Both players remain sidelined as they are back in Jersey dealing with injuries.

The Avalanche are looking to get back in the win column after having a rough outing against the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights. They lost 7-0 in an unimpressive showing, but going into this game they should have a chip on their shoulder.

Even though two forwards are out of the lineup for the Devils, the top nine is still one of the most impressive in the league. The Devils will be relying on Jesper Bratt, Timo Meier, Michael McLeod and Erik Haula to get the Devils going.

Another player to watch would be Dawson Mercer as he finally got his first point/goal last game. With the first point of the season under his belt, hopefully the points will keep rolling in. Mercer is another key forward for that will hopefully help the team pull off a win.

It is unsure who will be starting in net for the Devils, but it is likely Alexander Georgiev will be in net for the Avalanche. Georgiev has put up similar numbers to Vitek Vanecek this season, so if the Devils would like to pull off a win, Vanecek is most likely their best bet.

Tuesday night will be another gritty game from the Devils if they want to continue winning. It will be a team effort that relies on connecting passes and playing simple.

Will the Devils be able to pull off a win in Colorado? Tune in on TNT at 10 p.m. to find out.
