New Jersey High School Football Battle at the Beach Day 2

Day 1 of Battle at the Beach was electric with four great games. On Saturday we had four more great games here in Ocean City, New Jersey during Day 2 of Battle at the Beach. 

West Deptford vs. Hightstown kicked off the second day of Battle at the beach on Saturday morning. Hightstown held a 7-0 lead at halftime and led 13-0 before West Deptford scored to make it 13-7. Hightstown scored a late touchdown to ice the game to win 19-7 in their season opener. Hightstown was led by Senior Devron Lewis.  

In Game 2, Paul VI vs St. Thomas Aquinas and this game was never close from the start. St. Thomas Aquinas got up early and never looked back, winning this game in a great fashion with a score of 42-7. St. Thomas Aquinas was led by Chase Young who scored three rushing touchdowns to help lead them to victory. 

In Game 3, we had Rancocas Valley vs Union. This was close going into the fourth quarter with Rancocas Valley leading 8-6. Rancocas Valley pulled away late with two late touchdowns and turnover to help them win the game 21-6 over Union. Senior Malachi Castle from Rancocas Valley scored two touchdowns to help lead his team to victory. 

In the nightcap we had one of the biggest games this season of New Jersey high school football played at the Battle at the Beach. In Game 4, IMG Academy of Florida took on St. Joseph Prep of PA. It looked like IMG was going to run away with it up 17-0 midway through the third until St. Joseph Prep scored late in the 3rd to cut the lead to 10. St. Joseph Prep scored again in the fourth to cut the lead to three but IMG pulled out the win in a close one. IMG wins with the final score of 17-14 over St. Joseph Prep of PA. IMG was led by star defensive lineman David who committed to Oklahoma at halftime. 

Sunday will be the last day of Battle at the Beach with four more great games. Collingswood vs. Maple Shade will kick off Day 3. Cedar Creek vs. Matawan will kick off in the afternoon for the second game. In the evening Holy Spirit will play against Conwell Egan, PA. and to end the weekend of Battle at the Beach. Timber Creek will play Highland Regional in the weekend finale.
