New Jersey High School Football Battle at the Beach Day 3

The first two days at Battle at the Beach in Ocean City, NJ have been electric with eight great games played the first two days. We had four more great games played on Sunday here at the Battle at the Beach for Day 3

Sunday Morning in game 1, it was Collingswood vs. Maple Shade. This game was never close. Collingswood got up early and never looked back, winning 34-0. Senior Shakur Carter led the way for Collingswood with a receiving touchdown and two interceptions in the victory.

In game 2, Cedar Creek took on Matawan. This game got ugly early in the second half as the Pirates put up 29 points in the third quarter. Cedar Creek ended up winning in a blowout with a final score of 42-0. Cedar Creek Senior Quarterback Billy Smith had a big day, throwing four touchdowns passes to help lead his team to victory.

Game 3 was the closest game of the day between Holy Spirit and Conwell-Egan of PA. This was a nine-point game at the half with Holy Spirit having the lead. In the second half, Holy Spirit was able to shut out Conwell-Egan in the second half and score a late touchdown in the 24-7 win. Holy Spirit senior defensive lineman Nolan Bradley had a great game with a sack, three tackles for loss, safety and pass deflection in a huge win.

In the final game at the Battle at the Beach, it was a rivalry matchup between Timber Creek and Highland. This game was far from a typical rivalry game as the Chargers took the lead early and never looked bad. Timber Creek won 34-6 over rival Highland as senior running back Chase Conway helped lead his team to victory with two rushing touchdowns.
