Red Bulls sign Swedish Youth Player Noah Eile

Shortly after transferring Luquinhas, the New York Red Bulls completed a transfer for Swedish youth international center-back Noah Eile from Malmö FF for an undisclosed transfer fee.

The 21-year-old defender signed a four-year MLS contract through 2027 with an option for 2028 as a U-22 Initiative player. Eile adds some much-needed depth at the defensive position with the preseason looming.

“Noah is a promising young defender that we are excited to add to our roster,” Head of Sport Jochen Schneider said. “Although Noah is young, he has a lot of experience in Sweden’s top division and has the qualities we value in a defender. We cannot wait for him to get started with us.”

Eile began his professional career in 2020 when he signed with Malmo FF, one of the most successful clubs in Sweden's top division, Allsvenskan, where he made four appearances and won the league title in 2021.

Most recently, Eile was on loan with Mjallby AIF, another Swedish club, appearing in 52 matches. The center-back recorded one goal and five assists in 24 matches during this time. In terms of international play, Eile has played for Sweden’s U-21 youth national team and has made 24 career appearances.

"We are very happy to sign Noah with our club,” newly appointed head coach Sandro Schwarz said. “Noah is talented defender with a great skillset, and we are excited to see him on the pitch at Red Bull Arena this season.”

With Sean Nealis and Andres Reyes as the only veteran center-backs set to return to Red Bull for the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, this gives the club some much-needed depth on defense and opens up opportunities for new manager Sandro Schwarz to play with a three-center-back formation.
