Pirates find buried treasure in transfer portal, sign Sadraque Nganga

The Seton Hall Pirates uncovered buried treasure this weekend, which is a rare instance for this late in the recruiting cycle for the upcoming basketball season. The diamond in the rough for the Pirates comes in the shape of a 6-foot-10 power forward. Seton Hall landed a commitment from Sadraque Nganga, who will be taking his talents to South Orange from Boise State.

Nganga was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022. In his freshman campaign with the Broncos, Nganga averaged two points and two rebounds in seven minutes played per game. The Boise State Broncos were an NCAA tournament team last season.

Nganga will be a vital piece in the Seton Hall front court immediately and in the future. He enters Seton Hall with three years of eligibility remaining. After watching tape on Nganga, it is evident he will bring athleticism, size and the ability to stretch the floor for the Pirates. At 6-foot-10, Nganga can step out to the perimeter and knock down shots, along with a skilled post game and good ball handling skills for his position. I expect Nganga to make an impact immediately for Seton Hall, while also developing into a potential all league player in the years to come.

Seton Hall still has one remaining scholarship available for next season. After solidifying the front court, Seton Hall still needs a backup point guard. I expect Seton Hall to fill that scholarship with a guard in the coming weeks, as the team has started summer workouts on campus.
