Meadow Lake helped Clayton secure the win as she only allowed two hits the entire game.

Lake remained strong after allowing the first walk in the game in the top of the 5th.

The talented young sophomore closed the game with a strikeout, helping the Lady Clippers bring home the team's first South Jersey, Group 1 title. Lake ended the game with eight strikeouts.

Gloucester City's Olivia George helped the team answer back to the Lady Clipper's impressive defense throughout five innings. The freshman shows promise for the future of the Lady Lions.

The defense from Clayton had big plays throughout the game as they allowed no runs, keeping the game within their arms reach.

Clayton's roster consists of mostly sophomores and juniors, for many this is their first season at the varsity level due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Clippers aren't done yet, they move on to the state Group 1 semi-final against Central Jersey's winner this Tuesday at home.
