NJCU Standout, Damaris Rodriguez Named to D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Second Team

New Jersey City University women's basketball standout senior point guard Damaris Rodriguez was selected to the D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Second Team. This is the third consecutive year Rodriguez has received Preseason All-America honors, the first as Second Team. 

Last season, Rodriguez finished up as a D3hoops.com All-America Second Team selection, as well as a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III All-America Honorable Mention. 

Rodriguez has been named First Team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) three times, winning her first NJAC Player of the Year honor last season. She averaged 24.3 points per game last season, tops in all of NCAA Division III.

The Secaucus, New Jersey native has scored 1,358 points in 62 games (21.9 points per game) to go with 404 assists (6.5 assists per game), 323 rebounds (5.2 rebounds per game) and 157 steals (2.5 steals per game) throughout her three-year career at NJCU so far. 

The Gothic Knights open their season at John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center against Albertus Magnus on November 14. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
