Job purpose
Jersey Sporting News is in search of qualified individuals with an interest in being the face of JSN through on-camera appearances covering local news and sports in the community and surrounding areas.
With a focus on sports throughout New Jersey, on-camera personalities must be able to talk all things New Jersey sports in an entertaining fashion that engages with followers via social media and other on-camera content. We strive to provide our readers and followers with engaging and up-to-date sports content via game coverage as well as feature stories and interviews.
Expectations
The ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic, detailed and dynamic entertainer. The host must embrace social media, including digital and video components.
Additionally, hosts are expected to:
· Create content that accurately informs, entertains and engages specific audiences and platforms through the use of metrics. Works toward becoming the community’s leading voice in area of expertise.
· Connects with followers through the content you produce, as well as through our social media platforms.
Candidates should be out-going, open to attention, and have a fun, energetic personality.
Qualifications
Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this position:
· Previous hosting or social media experience preferred, but not required. Students welcome.
· Resident of New Jersey or nearby state preferred.
· Excellent verbal, editing, and organizational skills.
· Self-starter who can take direction and contribute ideas.
· Community development knowledge/experience a plus.
