Rutgers Men's Lacrosse Captains announced

The captains for Rutgers' upcoming men's lacrosse season have been announced. Seniors Ross Scott and Shane Knobloch were named on Monday morning as captains for the 2024 season.

Scott will enter the 2024 season as captain for the second time. Ranked number 26 in the country by Inside Lacrosse, the Oregon native has earned all-American and two all-conference honors, twice. In his career Scott has played in 52 games, scoring 89 goals and tallying 48 assists for 137 points.

Knobloch, also a senior, is named captain for the first time. From Moorestown, New Jersey, the midfielder is ranked 33 by Inside Lacrosse and is a three-time all-American. Knobloch is also a two time All-Big Ten selection as well as the 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Up until this point in his Rutgers career, Knobloch has played 46 games, scored 69 goals and has 38 assists for 107 points.

The team was 32-14 over the past full three seasons, with 13 ranked wins in that time. 26 ranked wins have come under head coach Brian Brecht since 2012. With the season set to start against Lehigh on February 3, Scott and Knobloch look to lead the Scarlet Knights to continued success in the 2024 season.
