Jack Hughes Named Third Star of the Week

Jack Hughes was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week for the last week of November, putting up seven points in three games.

After being sidelined for two weeks due to an upper-body injury, he has begun to put up his usual numbers again.

Hughes started off the week strong with three points in a 5-4 win against the New York Islanders. He assisted on two goals and found the back of the net once. Hughes was named the First Star of the Game.

On Nov. 30, the Devils took on the Philadelphia Flyers and pulled off an entertaining overtime win. During this game Hughes put up another three point night. He scored one goal and then assisted on two others including the overtime game winning goal. Despite having a three-point night, Hughes was not named one of the stars of the game.

The next night, the Devils played the San Jose Sharks and had a rough outing, losing the game 6-3. Hughes only put up one point, finding the back of the net once. Despite only having one point, Hughes had an impressive night with six shots on net in 27 minutes of ice time. He was tied for the most shots with veteran forward Ondrej Palat also having six shots.

All the Hughes brothers will play against each other tomorrow night at 10 p.m. as the Devils travel to the Vancouver Canucks and Quinn Hughes.

With three more games this week, what types of numbers with Hughes put up this time?
