Red Hawks Men's Soccer Preview vs. Babson College

Friday Night Lights! The Montclair State Red Hawks will look to open the season 3-0 as they take on the Babson College Beavers Friday night. Montclair has not played Babson in almost 20 years, so we’re going into this matchup with little-to-no history.

Amer Lukovic and company will try to do what no other team has done against the 2-0-1 Beavers: score a goal. The Beavers' defense has been a key to their unbeaten record, allowing no goals so far this year.

Babson goalkeeper Walker White has been the team's top player, with a whopping 15 saves in the first three games of the year. In their last match, a 0-0 draw with Suffolk, White notched notched a season-high seven saves.

Prediction:

The Red Hawks look to have their hands full in this one—going up against a stout defense and keeper. Babson, however, does not have the offensive firepower to match their defense.

Something is going to have to give in this one and, with this being a Friday night home game, Montclair should be able to break the Beavers shutout streak. Babson will certainly focus on Lukovic tonight, so look for Andre Shelton and Owen Murphy to have a large role in tonight’s match.

Montclair should pull out a win tonight in a tight, hard-fought match.
