Princeton vs Yale Preview

With their second Ivy League match-up in four days, the Princeton Tigers look to pull a winning streak together when they face the Yale Bulldogs Saturday night. Coming into this matchup after a 1-0 win against UPenn, the Tigers face a Bulldogs team that is still searching for its first Ivy League win of the season.

Starting off Strong

If Princeton wants to pick up three points on Saturday night, they have to take control of the game at the first whistle. While there have been times of dominance from them this season in their past two matchups, this aspect has been missing from their play. The Tigers' dominance needs to be at an all-time high as they are facing a Bulldogs team that is win-hungry.

Keeping it Simple

While the dekes and perfect crosses are always exciting to watch, Princeton needs to stick to the basics on Saturday. Attempting to play fancy can become Princeton’s worst enemy. Thinking too hard about the next move can lead to a goal causing mistake. Letting the plays come naturally is going to be Princeton’s friend. Princeton has embodied this style of play this season as well, and when they’ve played simple their game was at their top level.

If Princeton sticks to these tactics, they’ll be able to assert their place as a top team in the Ivy League this season. Saturday’s game will be held at 7 P.M. at Roberts Field ,which will also be Princeton’s Pride game where the first 150 fans in attendance will receive a scarf.
