After falling to the Portland Thorns in penalty kicks in the Challenge Cup Championship last Saturday, NJ/NY Gotham FC will look to stop the high powered offense of the Houston Dash as they open their 2021 NWSL Regular Season at Red Bull Arena.
"There's definitely an energy amongst the players that they want to keep achieving. For us just not settling on the fact that we did well in the Challenge Cup, that's not enough for us, certainly not enough for the coaching staff, not enough for the players, it's not enough for the organization and so for us to now continue to drive and use that momentum is really important," said Head Coach Freya Coombe.
The Houston Dash, who finished their Challenge Cup campaign undefeated with 1-0-2 record will look to play spoiler against the hometown team.

Fans wishing to catch NJ/NY Gotham FC's Home Opener against the Houston Dash can tune in to Paramount+ at 7pm ET on May 15. Tickets are still available to Saturday's match at Red Bull Arena as well.
