Seton Hall lands former four star recruit

Seton Hall added another vital piece to the puzzle for next years men’s basketball roster today. Former four star recruit Marcus Watson will be transferring to Seton Hall from North Carolina A&T. Watson who played his high school basketball in Georgia, was the number 96 ranked high school player in the country in 2019 by Rivals.com. The highly touted Watson committed to Oklahoma State University out of high school.

Watson spent one season at Oklahoma State. He was suspended in October of his freshman year, after a restraining order was placed on him by a female student at Oklahoma State. Following an investigation, criminal charges were not filed against Watson. He ultimately decided to leave the program and transferred to New Mexico State University.

Watson spent a year at New Mexico State before transferring to North Carolina A&T. He has spent the past two seasons as an impactful player for North Carolina A&T. This past season, Watson averaged 14.2 points per game, 4.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 28 minutes per game.

Watson stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs nearly 235 pounds. He is a strong perimeter defender, who can guard multiple positions. Offensively, Watson uses his size and strength well to finish around the rim. He will be looked upon as a pivotal piece in the rotation for Shaheen Holloway next season.

The addition of Watson leaves Seton Hall with two remaining scholarships for next season. Seton Hall still needs to add a backup point guard and a power forward. I expect to hear Seton Hall adding another guard in the coming days, as the Pirates continue to fill out their roster for next season.
