Detroit Lions vs New York Jets: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Another day. Another loss.

The New York Jets lost to the Detroit Lions by the final score of 20-17. Quarterback Zach Wilson actually played a very good game but his performance wasn't enough as the Jets' playoff hopes keep getting more and more unlikely. With that in mind, here are the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Sunday's game.

The Good:

QB Zach Wilson: With quarterback Mike White sidelined with a rib injury, the Jets had no choice but to start Zach Wilson and he was pretty good. He went for 18-35 for 317 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. This loss is in no way on Wilson as he produced one of the best games of his career. Wilson will start in Thursday night's game against the Jaguars and it will be interesting to see if he carries over his form from the Lions' game.

WR Garrett Wilson: Once again, Garrett Wilson continues to be the go-to target for the offense as he caught four receptions for 98 yards. Wilson is 36 yards short of a 1,000 receiving yards season. He would be the first Jet wide receiver to record 1,000 receiving yards in a season since Eric Decker (1,027 yards) and Brandon Marshall (1,502 yards) did it in the 2015 season.

Jets' Tight Ends: Despite their stats, the Jets' tight ends played a significant role in this game.  CJ Uzomah had two receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Conklin added two receptions for seven yards. Again not record-breaking but the tight end position is slowly becoming a part of the offensive scheme.

The Bad:

Jets Running Game: After a great couple of games running the ball, the Jets' running game fell back to orbit. The Jets' running backs struggled throughout the game. Zonovan Knight carried the ball 13 times for 23 rushing yards. RB Michael Carter carried the ball four times for 15 yards. Before this game, the Lions ranked 26th in the league in opponents rushing yards.

WR Braxton Berrios: It's been a rough couple of weeks for Braxton Berrios as he hasn't been able to catch a ball. He only had one reception for 14 yards. He needs to fix this quickly.

The Ugly:

Jets Defense: Whatever this horrific defense was.

Three Stars of The Game:

QB Zach Wilson: 18/35 317 yards two touchdowns one interception

WR Garrett Wilson: 4 receptions 98 yards

TE CJ Uzomah: Two receptions, 41 yards, two touchdowns
